Is your collagen vegan?
Collagen is not vegan. Collagen can only come from an animal/marine source.
Can you mix different collagen products?
Yes you can! Although there are no current studies that directly assess the effectiveness of combining different collagen types, you may be able to target more areas more effectively by combining different collagen peptides.

How should I store my collagen?

There are many ways to consume our collagen products. Collagen peptides are heat stable and readily dissolve. They can be added to your hot drinks, smoothies, baking, sauces, sports drinks and much more.
Will heat destroy my collagen?
No. Collagen is heat and pH stable. The hydrolyzed collagen peptides are small fragments of proteins so they cannot be disrupted or degraded when added to a hot drink or absorbed in the acidic environment of the digestive system.
What is hydrolyzed collagen?
The collagen peptides in our products are derived by the enzymatic hydrolysis of collagen, where specific enzymes are utilized to hydrolyze the protein chains, creating bioactive collagen peptides that are optimized for specific body functions.
Why are there different types of collagen?
The different types of collagen; Verisol®, Body Balance®, Fortigel® and Marine Verisol®. Have different compositions of specific peptides, optimized for targeted benefits. The collagen peptides in each product are hydrolyzed in specialized hydrolyzation conditions to produce different molecular weight distribution profiles. These optimized molecular profiles stimulate collagen synthesis in specific cells of the body.
How does collagen work?
Collagen supplementation works in two different ways.
- The supply of collagen peptides into your blood stream (within 1 hour of consumption) provides the valuable building blocks for collagen synthesis. By providing the body with specific amino acid sequences for targeted collagen repair, your cells can utilize these building blocks to readily produce more collagen protein.
- Consuming our collagen increases collagen peptides in your blood, stimulating cell synthesis. Your body recognizes the collagen peptides in your blood stream as an excess of collagen breakdown, naturally alerting your cells to increase your own collagen production.
What is the difference between marine and bovine collagen?
Our Verisol® marine and bovine collagen both consist predominantly of Type 1 & 3 collagen peptides. There is no documented nutritional difference or physiological benefit to taking one type of Verisol® over the other. We do recommend our Marine Verisol® for our animal welfare advocates.
